Professor Associado e Diretor do Instituto para o Estudo dos Erros Inatos do Metabolismo da Pontificia Universidad Javeriana. Eu trabalhei em terapia gênica para Morquio A usando AAV e vetores lentivirais, e atualmente estou explorando o uso de CRISPR / Cas9 como ferramenta de terapia gênica para vários erros inatos do metabolismo. Também trabalhei na produção e caracterização de cinco enzimas lisossomais recombinantes em microrganismos (bactérias e leveduras) para o desenvolvimento de novos ERTs. Também trabalhei na aplicação de ferramentas de bioinformática para o estudo dos erros inatos do metabolismo, como modelagem de proteínas, efeito de mutação, docking e biologia de sistemas.

O Dr. Charles Murry recebeu seu diploma de bacharel em química pela University of North Dakota, seguido pelo treinamento de MD-PhD na Duke University, onde estudou lesão de isquemia-reperfusão miocárdica. Ele fez um treinamento de residência em Patologia na Universidade de Washington, seguido por um treinamento de bolsa em biologia vascular e diagnóstico de patologia cardiovascular. Atualmente é professor dos departamentos de Medicina Laboratorial e Patologia, Bioengenharia e Medicina / Cardiologia da Universidade de
Washington. A pesquisa de Murry concentra-se na biologia das células-tronco, com ênfase na compreensão da diferenciação do sistema cardiovascular humano e no uso dessas células para estudar doenças e regenerar tecidos danificados. Seu grupo é líder mundial em regeneração cardíaca e está trabalhando em um ensaio clínico com terapia com cardiomiócitos. Além de dirigir seu grupo de pesquisa, o Dr. Murry é o diretor do Instituto UW de Células-tronco e Medicina Regenerativa. Ele atuou em muitos comitês locais, nacionais e internacionais, falou amplamente sobre células-tronco e medicina cardiovascular e recebeu vários prêmios por ensino e realizações científicas. O Dr. Murry é membro do Conselho de Diretores do ISSCR e do Comitê de Tradução Clínica do ISSCR. Mais recentemente, Murry transferiu parte de seu grupo de pesquisa para a Sana Biotechnology, onde agora atua como vice-presidente sênior e diretor científico de terapia celular. Sua equipe em Sana está trabalhando para trazer a regeneração cardíaca baseada em células-tronco para os ensaios clínicos.

Manuela E. Gomes is Associate Professor and President of the I3Bs Research Institute of the University of Minho, Portugal. Her research interests currently focus on tendon tissue engineering strategies, namely in the development of scaffold materials and bioinks based on biodegradable natural origin polymers, stem cells sourcing and differentiation (using biochemical and physical methods). She graduated in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, University of Porto, Portugal in 1997, obtained a MSc in Polymer Engineering, Univ. of Minho in cooperation with the company Isotis, Bilthoven (Holland), and a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering – Tissue Engineering/Hybrid Materials in collaboration with the Rice University (USA), in 2005. She was a co-founder of the 3B’s Research Group and one of the vice-directors of the group since 2011. Manuela Gomes is a board member of the Doctoral Program on Tissue Engineering, Regenerative Medicine and Stem Cells and is responsible for lecturing on biomaterials, tissue engineering and stem cells to Biomedical Engineering students of the University of Minho. She has been participated in numerous European and national/regional projects as PI or team member. She was awarded a Consolidator Grant from the European Research Council (ERC CoG) to develop magnetically assisted tissue engineering technologies for tendon regeneration and with a EC funded Twinning Project – “Achilles: Overcoming specific weaknesses in tendon biology to design advanced regenerative therapies”, in collaboration with NUI Galway (Ireland), University Regensburg Medical Centre (Germany) and the Mayo Clinic (USA). Manuela Gomes is editor 2 books and co-editor of the Tissue Engineering Encyclopaedia (Elsevier, 2019) and author of 44 book chapters, 200 full papers published in international refereed journals, and more than 300 communications in international conferences (7.900 citations, H-index of 47). She has received several awards, including the 2013 Young Investigator Award of the Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine International Society – European Chapter (TERMIS-EU). Manuela Gomes is an active member of several international scientific organizations, being currently a member-at -large and chair of the membership committee of TERMIS, and Portugal Ambassador for the EORS.

Ele completou seu MSc em Odontologia Regenerativa e um PhD em Odontologia Translacional e Regenerativa no KCL sob a supervisão do Prof Paul Sharpe, onde criou uma técnica de autocura dentária totalmente baseada na modulação genética e ativação de células-tronco na polpa dentária. Atualmente, está tentando melhorar a prevenção da doença periodontal.

He completed a 1-year Post-Doctorate at the Royal Veterinary College-University of London (2010/2011), under the supervision of Prof. Roger K W Smith, in the area of Equine Orthopedics and Regenerative Medicine. He is currently Associate Professor III through Progression in the Unesp Teaching Career Plan, obtained in 2014 by FMVZ-Unesp. She teaches classes to students of the 3rd, 4th and 5th years of graduation in Veterinary Medicine and Graduate Studies. She is a Permanent Professor and Coordinator of the Postgraduate Program in Animal Biotechnology at FMVZ - Unesp (Capes - note 5). She is a CNPq Research Fellow, level 2 since 2006. Her current research area is Regenerative Medicine, with a focus on Veterinary Orthopedics. She is the leader of the Regenerative Therapy Research Group. She published more than 150 articles in specialized journals and numerous presentations in the annals of events. She received 8 recent research awards and / or honors. Atua como Pesquisador em Saúde Pública no Instituto Gonçalo Moniz (Fiocruz-BA) e como Médico Coordenador no Centro de Biotecnologia e Terapia Celular do Hospital São Rafael (HSR), em Salvador, onde também é o Responsável Técnico pelo Centro de Tecnologia Celular (CTC) do HSR. Desde 2018, atua como cientista colaborador do Instituto DOr de Pesquisa e Ensino (IDOR). Participa da atual gestão da Associação Brasileira de Terapia Celular, como 1o secretário. Secretária geral da Associação Brasileira de Fissuras Lábio Palatinas (gestão 2005-2009). Pesquisadora e orientadora da pós graduação (mestrado e doutorado acadêmicos) do Instituto de Ensino e Pesquisa do Hospital Sírio-Libanês, onde desenvolve pesquisas básicas e translacionais na área de células-tronco, bioengenharia de tecidos, fissuras lábio palatinas e malformações craniofacias. É responsável técnica pelo Centro de Processamento Celular do Hospital Sírio Libanês. Dr. Roberto Giugliani, MD, PhD, is a medical geneticist with specialization in inherited metabolic diseases. He is Full Professor at the Department of Genetics of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, being the founder and active member of the Medical Genetics Service of the University Hospital, in Porto Alegre, Brazil. He is also Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Inborn Errors of Metabolism and Screening, Chairman of the Latin American School of Human and Medical Genetics (ELAG), and Member of Brazilian Academy of Sciences. He is past President of the Latin American Society of Inborn Errors of Metabolism and Newborn Screening (SLEIMPN), the Latin American Network of Human Genetics (RELAGH), and the Brazilian Society of Medical Genetics and Genomics (SBGM). Prof. Giugliani’s main interests are concentrated in screening, diagnosis, and treatment of inborn errors of metabolism, particularly of lysosomal storage diseases, having supervised the training of over 100 MSc and PhDs, and being author of more than 480 scientific papers.

National Order of Scientific Merit (2006). Currently Full professor at Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and Head of the Laboratory of Cellular and Molecular Neurobiology. Possui graduação em Química, mestrado e doutorado em Bioquímica pela Universidade de São Paulo, pós-doutorado em Terapia Gênica pela University of Washington e livre-docência em Biofísica pela Universidade Federal de São Paulo. Foi professor de Bioquímica na Unesp-Rio Claro entre 1988-1996, e desde 1996 é professor de Biofísica na Escola Paulista de Medicina da Unifesp. Atualmente, é professor titular e ativo do departamento de biofisica da Unifesp. Foi co-fundador do Centro Interdisciplinar de Terapia Gênica (CINTERGEN) na Unifesp, e foi diretor desde sua fundação em 2004 até 2010 (o nome atual de CINTERGEN é CTCMol). É membro da Câmara técnica de Terapias avançadas da ANVISA e representante de especialistas da RENETA-ANVISA. Desde 2019 é vice-presidente da Associação brasileira de terapia celular e gênica. As principais linhas de pesquisas são: terapia gênica de doenças isquêmicas e genéticas, de câncer e vacina de DNA.

Professor Ana Liz G. Alves DVM MSc PhD Animal Biotechnology Graduate Program Coordinator Associate Professor of Equine Surgery Regenerative Medicine Science The São Paulo State University (UNESP - Univ Estadual Paulista) Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science Dept. of Veterinary Surgery and Animal Reproduction Graduated in Veterinary Medicine at FMVZ - USP, São Paulo, SP (1989), Residency in Large Animals Surgery (1990) at FMVZ - Unesp, Master in Medical Pathophysiology (1994) at the same institution. PhD in Medical Pathology (1998) by the Faculty of Medicine of Unesp and Free Teaching in Surgery of Large Animals after a Public Competition held in 2008 by FMVZ - Unesp. He completed a 1-year Post-Doctorate at the Royal Veterinary College-University of London (2010/2011), under the supervision of Prof. Roger K W Smith, in the area of Equine Orthopedics and Regenerative Medicine. He is currently Associate Professor III through Progression in the Unesp Teaching Career Plan, obtained in 2014 by FMVZ-Unesp. She teaches classes to students of the 3rd, 4th and 5th years of graduation in Veterinary Medicine and Graduate Studies. She is a Permanent Professor and Coordinator of the Postgraduate Program in Animal Biotechnology at FMVZ - Unesp (Capes - note 5). She is a CNPq Research Fellow, level 2 since 2006. Her current research area is Regenerative Medicine, with a focus on Veterinary Orthopedics. She is the leader of the Regenerative Therapy Research Group. She published more than 150 articles in specialized journals and numerous presentations in the annals of events. She received 8 recent research awards and / or honors. She currently coordinates 5 research projects, with international collaborations. Conducts University Extension work since 1992 in the areas of Clinic and Surgery of Large Animals (since 1992) and Regenerative Medicine (since 2005), in the form of clinical surgical assistance, veterinary consultancy, theoretical-practical courses and assistance to schools in the state of São Paulo.

Ashley Umlauf is a Cell Culture and Cell Therapy Field Applications Scientist II (FAS) with ThermoFisher Scientific. Ashley leverages her significant experience in designing and developing numerous commercialized medical devices to act as a primary technical consultant for her cell and gene therapy customers. Ashley holds a B.S. degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Wisconsin.

Graduated in medicine from the Federal University of Bahia (2009), master‘s degree in Biotechnology in Health and Investigative Medicine from Fiocruz (2012) and doctorate in Human Pathology from the Federal University of Bahia (2016). He has an MBA in health management from Fundação Getúlio Vargas (2017). He worked as a visiting researcher at the Neuroimmunology Laboratory at the San Raffaele Scientific Institute in Milan, Italy (2010-2011). He works as a Researcher in Public Health at the Gonçalo Moniz Institute (Fiocruz-BA) and as a Coordinating Physician at the Center for Biotechnology and Cell Therapy at the São Rafael Hospital (HSR), in Salvador, where he is also the Technical Responsible for the Cell Technology Center (CTC) ) of the HSR. Since 2018, he has worked as a collaborating scientist at the DOr Institute for Research and Education (IDOR). Participates in the current management of the Brazilian Association of Cell Therapy, as 1st secretary. CNPq level 2 productivity scholarship. He has experience in confocal microscopy, culture of mesenchymal stem cells, culture of neural cells, iPSC, development of preclinical studies in experimental models and clinical studies in the areas of cell therapy and regenerative medicine.
CARLOS JAVIER ALMECIGA DÍAZ
Bachelor on Pharmacy from Universidad Nacional de Colombia, and Doctor of Biological Sciences from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana. Associate Professor and Director of the Institute for the Study of Inborn Errors of Metabolism at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana. I have worked in gene therapy for Morquio A using AAV and lentiviral vectors, and currently I‘m exploring the use of CRISPR/Cas9 as gene therapy tool for several inborn errors of metabolism. I have also worked in the production and characterization of recombinant five lysosomal enzymes in microorganisms (bacteria and yeast) for the development of novel ERTs. I also worked in the application of bioinformatics tools for the study of the inborn errors of the metabolism, such as protein modeling, mutation effect, docking, and systems biology.
CARMEN REBELATTO
Graduated in Biological Sciences from the Federal University of Paraná (1990), master‘s degree in Genetics from the Federal University of Paraná (1996) and doctorate in Health Sciences from the Pontifical Catholic University of Paraná (2008). She is currently Assistant Professor at the Medical School of the Pontifical Catholic University of Paraná, Technical Responsible for the Center for Cellular Technology at the Pontifical Catholic University of Paraná and Biologist at the Hospital de Clínicas of the Federal University of Paraná. Has experience in Immunogenetics, Human and Medical Genetics and Tissue Culture. She mainly works on the following themes: histocompatibility, cell culture and stem cells.

Veterinarian, with post-graduation "latu sensu" in Veterinary Acupuncture by the Bioethicus institute and doctorate by the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Zootechnics at the University of São Paulo with an emphasis on stem cell therapy and acupuncture. Coordinator of the training course in Veterinary Ozone Therapy by Fisioanimal. Member of the Brazilian Association of Veterinary Acupuncture (ABRAVET), Brazilian Association of Ozone Therapy (ABOZ) and of the Brazilian Association of Veterinary Ozone Therapists (ABO3VET).
CHARLES E. MURRY
Dr. Charles Murry received his bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of North Dakota, followed by MD-PhD training at Duke University, where he studied myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury. He did residency training in Pathology at the University of Washington, followed by fellowship training in vascular biology and diagnostic cardiovascular pathology. He is currently a professor in the departments of Laboratory Medicine & Pathology, Bioengineering, and Medicine/Cardiology at the University of Washington. Murry’s research focuses on stem cell biology, with an emphasis on understanding differentiation of the human cardiovascular system and using these cells to study diseases and to regenerate damaged tissues. His group is a world leader in heart regeneration and is working toward a clinical trial using cardiomyocyte therapy. In addition to running his research group, Dr. Murry is the director of the UW Institute for Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine. He has served on many local, national and international committees, spoken widely about stem cells and cardiovascular medicine, and he has received numerous awards for teaching and scientific achievement. Dr. Murry is a member of the ISSCR Board of Directors and the ISSCR Clinical Translation Committee. Most recently, Murry moved part of his research group to Sana Biotechnology, where he now serves as Senior VP and Chief Scientific Officer for Cell Therapy. His team at Sana is working to bring stem cellbased heart regeneration into clinical trials.

Trained Ophthalmologist, over 20 years in strategic Medical Affairs and recognised experience in launching and network building in gene therapy. Leading ocular gene at Novartis with strategic global medical leadership in the ocular gene portfolio. Close collaboration with key cross-functional stakeholders on the Ocular Gene therapies pipeline to shape the access and outcomes for patients with inherited retinal diseases and other blinding diseases, leveraging recognized experience in launching and network building in Gene Therapy.

General secretary of the Brazilian Association of Cleft Palates (management) 2005-2009). Postgraduate researcher and advisor (academic master‘s and doctorate) at the Teaching and Research Institute of Hospital Sírio-Libanês, where she develops basic and translational research in the area of ​​stem cells, tissue bioengineering, cleft lip and craniofacial malformations. She is technically responsible for the Cell Processing Center of Hospital Sírio Libanês. Principal investigator of the Tissue Bioengineering Project for patients with craniofacial malformations using stem cells PROADI-SUS (Ministry of Health / Hospital Sírio Libanês) from 2012 to the present date (25000.009809 / 2018-2020). Currently, he coordinates the Gene Transfer Laboratory at the Ribeirão Preto Blood Center (FMRP / USP), where he develops basic and applied studies in gene/cell therapy, with a special focus on genetically engineered T cells.
MANUELA E. GOMES
Manuela E. Gomes is Associate Professor and President of the I3Bs Research Institute of the University of Minho, Portugal. Her research interests currently focus on tendon tissue engineering strategies, namely in the development of scaffold materials and bioinks based on biodegradable natural origin polymers, stem cells sourcing and differentiation (using biochemical and physical methods). She graduated in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, University of Porto, Portugal in 1997, obtained a MSc in Polymer Engineering, Univ. of Minho in cooperation with the company Isotis, Bilthoven (Holland), and a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering – Tissue Engineering/Hybrid Materials in collaboration with the Rice University (USA), in 2005. She was a co-founder of the 3B’s Research Group and one of the vice-directors of the group since 2011. Manuela Gomes is a board member of the Doctoral Program on Tissue Engineering, Regenerative Medicine and Stem Cells and is responsible for lecturing on biomaterials, tissue engineering and stem cells to Biomedical Engineering students of the University of Minho. She has been participated in numerous European and national/regional projects as PI or team member. She was awarded a Consolidator Grant from the European Research Council (ERC CoG) to develop magnetically assisted tissue engineering technologies for tendon regeneration and with a EC funded Twinning Project – “Achilles: Overcoming specific weaknesses in tendon biology to design advanced regenerative therapies”, in collaboration with NUI Galway (Ireland), University Regensburg Medical Centre (Germany) and the Mayo Clinic (USA). Manuela Gomes is editor 2 books and co-editor of the Tissue Engineering Encyclopaedia (Elsevier, 2019) and author of 44 book chapters, 200 full papers published in international refereed journals, and more than 300 communications in international conferences (7.900 citations, H-index of 47). She has received several awards, including the 2013 Young Investigator Award of the Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine International Society – European Chapter (TERMIS-EU). Manuela Gomes is an active member of several international scientific organizations, being currently a member-at -large and chair of the membership committee of TERMIS, and Portugal Ambassador for the EORS.

Dr. Roberto Giugliani, MD, PhD, is a medical geneticist with specialization in inherited metabolic diseases. He is Full Professor at the Department of Genetics of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, being the founder and active member of the Medical Genetics Service of the University Hospital, in Porto Alegre, Brazil. He is also Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Inborn Errors of Metabolism and Screening, Chairman of the Latin American School of Human and Medical Genetics (ELAG), and Member of Brazilian Academy of Sciences. He is past President of the Latin American Society of Inborn Errors of Metabolism and Newborn Screening (SLEIMPN), the Latin American Network of Human Genetics (RELAGH), and the Brazilian Society of Medical Genetics and Genomics (SBGM). Prof. Giugliani’s main interests are concentrated in screening, diagnosis, and treatment of inborn errors of metabolism, particularly of lysosomal storage diseases, having supervised the training of over 100 MSc and PhDs, and being author of more than 480 scientific papers.

SANG WON HAN
He has a degree in Chemistry, a Master‘s and a PhD in Biochemistry from the University of São Paulo, a post-doctorate in Gene Therapy from the University of Washington and a PhD in Biophysics from the Federal University of São Paulo. He was a professor of biochemistry at Unesp-Rio Claro between 1988-1996, and since 1996 he has been a professor of biophysics at Escola Paulista de Medicina da Unifesp. He is currently a full and active professor in the biophysics department at Unifesp. He was co-founder of the Interdisciplinary Center for Gene Therapy (CINTERGEN) at Unifesp, and was director since its foundation in 2004 until 2010 (the current name of CINTERGEN is CTCMol). He is a member of the Technical Chamber of Advanced Therapies at ANVISA and representative of specialists at RENETA-ANVISA. Since 2019, he has been vice president of the Brazilian Association of Cell and Gene Therapy. The main lines of research are: gene therapy for ischemic and genetic diseases, cancer and DNA vaccine.
SHIRLEY WENKER

She completed a Post-Doctorate at Fundación Instituto Leloir- IIBBA- CONICET in the area of regenerative medicine. VITOR DE CARVALHO MORENO DAS NEVES
Graduation in Dentistry from Brazil and dentist qualified in the UK, who wants to push dentistry forwards through biology. He completed his MSc in Regenerative Dentistry and a PhD in Translational and Regenerative Dentistry at King‘s College London under Prof Paul Sharpe supervision, where he created a dentine self-healing technique fully based on genetic modulation and stem cell activation in the dental pulp. Currently, he holds an NIHR Clinical Lectureship position at KCL and is a Specialty Registrar in Periodontology at Guy‘s Hospital, in London, UK, where he is attempting to enhance periodontal disease prevention.
